MRCPCH Part 1 Rules and Regulations

Every candidate applying for the MRCPCH Part 1 examination must hold a recognised medical qualification that is valid according to the Royal College guidelines. MRCPCH Part 1 exam regulations set forth by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in regards to the MRCPCH Part 1 examination include:

  1. All applicants applying for the MRCPCH Part 1 examination must present their original medical registration certificates and/or diplomas, unless their name is listed on the latest edition of the Medical Register published by the GMC
  2. Entries to the MRCPCH Part 1 examination will not be accepted if there are any spelling, grammatical and name listing errors on the original medical registration certificates, translated documents and/or documents
  3. All applicants who have changed their name through marriage or a deed poll must provide original documentation as evidence
  4. Candidates must supply credentials, in addition to the admissions document. A passport is acceptable; however, other forms of identification with a photo and a signature will also be valid
  5. The College reserves the right to refuse any candidate from sitting or passing any MRCPCH 1 examination for any reason they deem sufficient. Examples of reasons to bar candidates from the MRCPCH Part 1 include:
    1. Where there is any doubt concerning the authenticity of the certificates produced by the MRCPCH 1 candidate; or
    2. Where there exists any reason that causes the Royal College to doubt the fitness of the MRCPCH Part 1 candidate to become a member or to hold the DCH. Such reasons include, but are not limited to, criminal behaviour or other professional misconduct; or
    3. Where the MRCPCH 1 candidate is suspected of cheating or attempting to cheat in any way during the MRCHCH examination; or
    4. Where numbers of applications received by the College exceeds the number of MRCPCH Part 1 examination places available, the Royal College reserves the right to return applications to the candidate. This makes it in your best interest to apply as early as possible for the MRCPCH 1.
    5. If a MRCPCH1 application is found to be incomplete in any way, the College reserves the right to reject said application.
